Lecture objectives

In his lecture, “Herodontics, and the Restoration of Endodontically Treated Teeth,” Dr. Terry Walton critically examines the complex decisions surrounding the preservation of severely compromised endodontically treated teeth. Dr. Terry Walton

Short bio

Dr. Terry Walton is a leading figure in prosthodontics with a career spanning more than 40 years. He graduated with a BDS degree in 1974 and an MDSc in Prosthodontics in 1979 from the University of Sydney, followed by an MS in Fixed Prosthodontics from the University of Michigan in 1981. Since 1983, he has maintained a specialist prosthodontic practice in Sydney, focusing on fixed prosthodontics.

Dr. Walton is a Professor (Affiliate) at the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Dentistry and has served as Co-President of the International College of Prosthodontists (2000-2001). He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy and serves on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Prosthodontics.

Dr. Walton’s extensive research on the long-term outcomes of fixed tooth- and implant-supported prostheses has been widely published and cited. Recognized for his exceptional contributions to dentistry, he was awarded the Order of Australia (AM) in 2007. His dedication to education and research continues to influence the field of prosthodontics globally.
