This lecture will discuss the current perspectives and recommendations for Vital Pulp Therapy in Paediatric Patients.

Dr Sherene Alexander

Short bio

Sherene is presently employed as a Senior Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at Westmead Hospital and Sydney dental hospital. Besides being actively involved in the training of her junior colleagues through The University of Sydney and Charles Sturt University, she also provides ‘out of hours’ emergency care at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and is a visiting specialist at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

Sherene is currently President of the ANZSPD (NSW Branch) and she is one of the few specialists who has devoted her time to providing paediatric dental care to patients in remote and regional NSW for well over 18 years. Her areas of interest include managing the special child, paediatric oral pathology and dental trauma. She has published widely in several international peer reviewed journals, including co-authoring a chapter in the ‘Handbook of Paediatric Dentistry’.

On a different note, she has an avid interest in woodwork and currently enjoys long distance running, golf and boating.
